In Ice Age 3 the life of main heroes changes. Ellie and Manny are expecting their first child, and Manny is obessed with the idea to make the life safe for his family. Diego fails to catch a cocky gazelle thus thinking he is loosing his predatory nature as a tiger and decides to leave the herd not to became a burden to his friends. Sid grows jealous of Manny and Ellie willing create his own family, so he ''adopts'' three apparently abandoned eggs that he finds in an icy underground cavern and calls them Eggbert, Shelly, and Yoko. A female Tyrannosaurus, Momma, whose eggs Sid stole, soon returns and carries both Sid and her young underground. To rescue Sid his friends get to a mysterious world full of dinosaurs thought to be extinct and are saved themselves by an insane, one-eyed weasel named Buck.

Scrat chasing his acorn is the source of all problems again. Besides, he has a girlfriend this time.

The third Ice Age film was probably intentioned for adults and not for children, at least for those under 10. Talking about the movie in this context it is funny, though vulgar sometimes. Here jokes tell about friendship and family relations. But the main drawback of the film is the story, it is tired and monotonous. Though creators tried to show us their inexhaustible imagination having invented two new characters, they are seriously inferior to Sid and opossums being main funny characters in the previous parts. Nevertheless, it is imposible to imagine the cartoon without Buck and Scratte.

No doubt children will be enchanted with the lost world, jungle and dinosaurs. Be sure, they'll even be scared when see two red eyes of a horrible dinosaur in the darkness. Excellent animation, that is the main point of the movie. Enjoy it.
